Trachi-Naze Plus provides the functions of the nose. It adds back the heat, moisture, filtration and physiological airway resistance that is vital for efficient breathing and increased oxygenation - the only system clinically proven to do this, unlike other foam-filled filter cassettes.References available on request.

The restoration of the nasal function will reduce mucus production, coughing, tracheal irritation, crusting around the stoma-and will improve general well-being due to better oxygenation. People will feel fitter and stronger. Sleeping will improve.

Trachi-Naze Plus can be used immediately after surgery. Those who cannot tolerate skin adhesives, or are unable to use normal adhesive baseplates due to recessed and uneven stomas, can now enjoy the dedicated, multifunction Trachi-Naze Plus filters.

The Trachi-Naze Plus family of 3 interchangeable filter inserts includes:

The Blue Filter (night) provides the normal airway resistance which improves oxygenation - these filters would normally be worn at night and can easily be tolerated during sleep.

The Green Filter (day), with half the airway resistance of the Blue Filter, helps maximize respiratory performance and comfort during normal daily activity.

The Orange Filter (active), with minimal airway resistance, enables wearers to carry out strenuous activity without losing the protection offered by the filters.

Trachi-Naze Plus offers two lengths and several diameters of Stoma Stud to assure that each person can have a comfortable fit. Stoma Studs come in boxes of 2, with the bonus of 2 shower shields/wind deflectors in each box.

Secure and comfortable fitting is important. Following simple guidelines, Speech Pathologists or Physicians can assure that their patients have the correct size Stoma Stud for trouble free wear.

Introduction immediately after surgery is encouraged to reduce mucus production and to insure that respiratory rehabilitation can begin as soon as possible. The non-adhesive Stoma Studs will not irritate the stoma area or cause tissue breakdown. Stoma Studs can be kept in place if the wearer undergoes radiation therapy.

Stoma Studs come in 2 lengths and 5 diameters. The shorter length will be more suitable for TEP voice prosthesis users so the shaft will not reach the voice prosthesis opening.

After professional fitting and instruction, people with reasonable use of their hands and arms should be able to insert and remove Stoma Studs and filters with no difficulty. Normal use indications would be 2-3 filters every 24 hours. During the first few days with the system, the number of filters used may be higher (4-5 filters every 24 hours). This will settle down after the initial period - approximately 3 to 5 days.
