These companies handle some, but not all, of the products we manufacture or for which we are a distributor. They may have products from other sources that we do not carry. Contact them for full information on their products, prices and purchase arrangements.
Canadian dealer prices may seem rather high compared to ours, but considering the exchange rate, the convenience and savings of paying in Canadian funds and the fact that brokerage fees have already been taken care of, purchasing from a Canadian dealer usually turns out to be preferable. Shipping and/or brokerage are, unfortunately, often quite costly when we send an item direct to you.
Some people and agencies, especially in the mid-western or far eastern provinces, really wish to purchase direct from us and some want products not sold in Canada. In these cases, we can often sell directly to Canadian customers. NOTE THE U.S. PURCHASE INFORMATION on Individual Customers and Institutions/Agencies. Most of this applies to Canadian customers, too.
SPECIAL PURCHASE/SHIPPING INFORMATION
PAYMENT MUST BE IN U.S. Funds - by American Express, Discover,MasterCard or Visa, by Canadian Postal Money Order for U.S. Funds, by International Money Order for U.S. Funds drawn on a U.S. Bank or by a check for U.S. Funds from a U.S. bank account.
(We CANNOT ACCEPT checks written on a Canadian bank made out to U.S. funds - there is a long waiting period to collect and a charge to us for conversion of funds.)WE MUST CHARGE FOR SHIPPING/HANDLING/INSURANCE ON ALL SHIPMENTS TO CANADA, regardless of order amount. Package of lower dollar value to individuals are usually sent by Air Mail. More expensive and institutional orders are usually sent by UPS so that we can have quick tracking/proof of delivery. For values under $200, add $10 to our U.S. shipping/handling rates. For packages over $200 in value, add $20 to the total price..
UPS will probably add a CUSTOMS BROKERAGE CHARGE, even for duty free items. Agencies and institutions can have a package delivered to their own broker to eliminate the UPS brokerage charge.
AIR UPS SERVICE, on request, for agencies, institutions or individuals who need something quickly, means faster delivery, with brokerage fees included in the shipping price. Charges start at $30 and go up, depending on delivery area and weight. The Canadian 7.5% TAX will also be collected by UPS, with a small fee for handling.
If you want to phone us, our 800# is SUPPOSED to work from Canada. Please let us know if it doesn't.
TO SEND PACKAGES TO US FOR REPAIR OR REFUNDBEFORE you send an instrument for repair, get a customs E-15 form (available at any customs office or at large Post Offices). If you complete this properly and send it with the package according to directions, this will mean no hassles about duty and no tax on the full value of the device when it comes back to you, though there still will probably be a 7.5% fee on the invoice amount for parts and supplies and possibly for service.
Packages shipped to us must be well packed and padded, POSTAGE PREPAID,INSURED and sent by CANADIAN AIR MAIL or United Parcel Service or other international delivery service.. We are not responsible for packages that do not arrive here or are damaged in shipment! UPS apparently does not charge a brokerage fee for delivering Canadian Packages to us, so we will not have to add an incoming brokerage fee to your bill. We will not accept packages sent Freight Collect.
(Do NOT send packages Air Freight. This dumps packages at a Customs office at the airport 40 miles from us. Unless you want to pay us $200 or so for the time, effort and customs handling to retrieve the package, it will go unclaimed and may not be returned to you. USE AIRMAIL or UPS, NOT Air Freight.)
INCLUDE A NOTE in your package explaining the problems you are having or the reason for return and include a phone number in case we have any questions.
USE PROPER CUSTOMS STICKERS ON YOUR PACKAGE to avoid any U.S. duties or delays: Customs stickers must give the name/type of the product & a statement indicating there is no Duty.
Repairs must be marked: "(name/type) - Necessary Medical Apparatus being returned to manufacturer for repair. DUTY FREE"
Returns must be marked: "(name/type) - Necessary Medical Apparatus being returned to manufacturer for refund. DUTY FREE."
Example: "Voicette Personal Amplifier- Necessary Medical Apparatus being
returned to manufacturer for repair. DUTY FREE"
A proper statement will avoid our customs taking the package into the customs house and trying to charge us duty to receive it. We will refuse to pay any duty or to go to the customs house
(remember, it's 40 miles from us) and this may result in non-delivery of the package or a bill being sent to you, the sender, for duty, plus a LONG delay or possible loss of the package.NONE OF OUR MEDICAL RELATED PRODUCTS ARE DUTIABLE BY EITHER COUNTRY. DO NOT RISK LOSING A PACKAGE OR PAYING A LARGE EXTRA FEE FOR NO REASON. INCLUDE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION ON THE CUSTOMS STICKER AND SEND PACKAGES THE RIGHT WAY!
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PHONE US BEFORE SENDING YOUR ORDER OR PACKAGE.
Our 800# is SUPPOSED to work in Canada. Please let us know if it does not.
It's too bad this whole thing is so complicated between our sister countries, especially with NAFTA in effect! If you know anything we don't know about shipping in and out of Canada, please tell us!!!
